Keep It Simple!
It’s super easy to get overwhelmed when trying to plan, shop, prepare, cook, and eat all the foods you’ll be eating.
There are thousands of websites dedicated to healthy recipes and it’s SO much information, it can leave you paralyzed.
The trick, and what I do, is to keep it as simple as possible. There is no need to cook meals with 25 ingredients (unless you like to), because a meal with 5 ingredients can be just as tasty and healthy.
I also find it best to stick with the same 3-4 recipes for each mealtime. Not only will this save you money on useless ingredients that you’ll use once and never again, but it saves a ton of time trying to plan and prepare.
Remember, the easier you make it for yourself, the more likely you are to stick to it. If you think you have to spend hours per day planning and cooking, you’ll most likely give up because it’s not sustainable.
I like to cook, but I just don’t have the time for it every day.
Like you, I’m a busy dad with more things to do each day than I have time. So I find ways to make healthy and delicious meals as quickly (and cheaply) as possible.
Below are some “go-to” meals from “My Celebrity Fitness Recipe Book” they are plenty of recipes to suit all tastes, Pick a few and simply rotate between them each week so you don’t get bored. You can whip them up with little thought knowing you are fueling your body correctly.
As I said, the easier you make this, the better.
Here is an example,
Breakfast:
- Blueberry and oats pancakes (kids love these too)
- 3 egg omelette with veggies
- 0% Fat Greek yogurt with berries.
Lunch:
- Chicken sourdough sandwich
- Chicken Tikka kebabs
- Steak or pan fried salmon with Salad
Dinner:
- Turkey steak pizza with roasted butternut Squash.
- Chicken curry with plenty of veggies with rice
- Beef steak and veggies with sweet potato
If you truly want to be lean, fit, and healthy, you absolutely must pay attention to the quality of your food every day.
In just a few weeks of healthy eating, you’ll no doubt have more energy and feel so much better. You’ll see the difference in your waistline, how your clothes fit, and people will start commenting on how awesome you look.
